2022 Australian Masters National Championships wrap up

With near perfect weather conditions the whole week (which is a surprise for Ballarat), we had many highlights from our on water performances as well as bonding together off the water. 

Firstly, we should acknowledge Sara Hayward who was selected to compete in the Victorian Masters State Team, stroking the crew to bring home a bronze medal in the ISWD8+ event.

Carrum athletes brought home medals in 19 events as follows:

5 Gold:

  • WB8+ Jacquie, Morgan, Sara, Cath (YYRC), Holly (Corio), Cindy, Kelly, Jess F, Jess C (Cox)
  • WB2- Jacquie and Jess F
  • MB2- Drew and Nick (YYRC)
  • MixD4+ Kelly with composite
  • ME2- Drew and Matt (MRC)
  • WG1X Mary

5 Bronze:

  • IS8+ Sara with Victorian crew
  • WA4+ Cindy, Jess C with composite

Congratulations to all our athletes! We would like to extend a huge thank you to Rowing Australia, Rowing Victoria, the amazing volunteers (including our President Angelique who volunteered across all 4 days!) and the umpires for providing such a fantastic regatta for us. We look forward to Sydney in 2023!
